RAINBARRELS --- SAVING FOR A SUNNY DAY

Rainwater is oxygen rich and free of chlorine and fluoride additives and will help you achieve a healthy green garden and happier plants. During a typical rainstorm receiving 1" of rainwater during a 24 hour period, over 700 gallons of water will run off a 1200 square foot roof, the equivalent of 14 bathtubs filled with water! A rainbarrel will help you reduce your water bill, and you can also hook up a second or third rainbarrel (ask us how).

WATER HARVESTING RAINBARREL WITH SINGLE TAP

This  durable and long lasting childproof rain barrel has been outlasting all other rain barrels on the market. To collect rainwater,rest your rainpipe up against the louvered  screened cap. A standard 1/2 inch garden hose can then be connected to the tap at the bottom of the rainbarrel  so you can then water your plants.

HOW TO CONNECT MULTIPLE RAIN BARRELS TOGETHER

In order to connect multiple rain barrels together, this requires that your initial rain barrel be a "Water harvesting rain barrel with single tap" (see above) onto which you can connect a regular size household garden hose to, this will enable you to feed water to the rest of the rain barrels in the line-up . As you will see in the pictures below, a hose splitter has been threaded in to the cap of the receiving rain barrel in order to allow rain water to enter the rain barrel.The hose splitter also allows for the collected water to leave the rain barrel via a length of hose to then fill another rain barrel and so on.The last rain barrel in the line-up provides the water to your garden.

A line-up of 10 rain barrels for example which can easily be hidden from view under a deck ,behind a bush or behind a garage, would yield 450 gallons of rain water which can be stored for a SUNNY DAY (to store the water in the barrels, simply keep the valve on the hose splitter in the closed closed position).

Hose splitter

Food container allows for the safe collection of rainwater and for the storage of potable liquids. Available in 30 (18" x 30") and 45 (24" x 36") gallon sizes.

Rain barrel exchange program

These convinient easy to carry 15 gallon containers are great for potable water while out on camping excursions and conoeing trips. Bung wrench used to loosen and tighten caps on all plastic and steel barrels now available.

Two hundred and fifty gallon (1000 liters) container with metal  protective frame. Top opening is 6" in diameter  and comes with a screw on cap, the bottom valve opens and closes with a lever action.This container is safe for drinking water as it did not contain any chemicals.

Polyethylene hose can be attached to tote container. This hose is 50' long and 2" in diameter.

Constructed from oak and steel,once used for aging whiskey. Most people use our oak barrels for planters or for rainbarrels. If being used for water collection, the oak barrel must first be cured to allow the oak to expand in order to create a water tight container (ask us how).

We also rent oak barrels by the day for weddings, parties, festivals and corporate events. We provide delivery and pick-up to your event.

Not recommended for water collection as the lid is easily removed and little  people would be at risk of drowning. We recommend this container be used for storage of solid items only.

Our 45 gallon food grade steel drums  have been a long time favorite and have been used by many  either to store items in, as a burning barrel or with a little creativity can be converted into a smoker barbecue

Recommended for the storage of non potable liquids. Lid is non removable and comes with 2 bungs (openings) and 2 screw caps.

We also carry a selection  of taps to choose from for the do-it-yourself person who wishes to install the tap into a barrel themselves.

This popular hand pump can be used to pump water that has been harvested in a rain barrel that does not have a tap.The pump attaches to the threaded opening on the drums surface and can also be used to pump other liquids.Output per stroke is approx. 11ozs. (326 ml.)

This light-weight pump uses standard 110 volt house current and can be used to "pressurize" the water coming from a rain barrel when attached to a garden hose. The electric pump discharge is 6 gallon per minute.

This  bag is food grade and can be used  for storage of produce, feed, compost or soil. Measurements are 21" x 30".

Can be used to cover rain barrels and protect them from the sun. Measurements are  3.5' x 17.5'.
